The Pakistan national cricket team is likely to make changes to their batting lineup for the upcoming match against India in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. According to the latest news reports, Pakistan team management is set to break the Babar Azam-Mohammad Rizwan opening pair for the highly anticipated World Cup match.

The Pakistan team suffered a defeat against the United States of America (USA) in their first match at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Thursday, June 6. The Men in Green failed to chase down the target in the Super Over during the recent match. The Pakistan batters didn't contribute in their T20 World Cup 2024 opener.

The Babar Azam-led team will take on the Rohit Sharma-led team at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday. The Men in Green will be hoping to bounce back and secure victory in the upcoming match. They will be almost eliminated from the group stage if they lose against their archrivals.

Saim Ayub Is Likely To Make A Comeback - Report

A GEO News journalist from Pakistan stated that the team management is considering changes in the batting order of the Pakistan Cricket Team. He said Saim Ayub is likely to make a comeback for the Pakistan cricket team against India. Reportedly, he will replace Azam Khan in the team.

"Sources say the Team Management has pressed a PANIC BUTTON regarding batting order of Pakistan Cricket Team. You might once again see changes in the batting order of Pakistan against India on 9June."

Pakistan scored 159 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Mohammed Rizwan was dismissed in the second over after scoring nine runs off eight deliveries. Pakistan lost the wickets of Usman Khan (3) and Fakhar Zaman (11) inside the first five overs. Babar scored just four runs off 14 balls in the powerplay.

All-rounder Shadab Khan played a quickfire knock of 40 runs off 25 balls, including one boundary and three sixes. However, Shadab failed to convert his start into a big knock. Azam Khan was dismissed for a duck on the first ball he faced. Babar ended with 44 runs off 43 balls, with the help of three fours and two sixes.

USA opener Steven Taylor scored 12 runs off 16 balls before being dismissed by Naseem Shah. Skipper Monank Patel (50) and Andries Gous (35) added a 68-run partnership off 48 balls for the second wicket. Nitish Kumar scored five runs off the final ball in Haris Rauf's bowling to help the home team level the score.
