Rohit Sharma-led India will lock horns against Babar Azam’s Pakistan once again in the Super Four match of the Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday (September 10th). The IND vs PAK match will take place at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The last time the match was played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy.

In the third match of the Asia Cup 2023, fans expected a thrilling match between the two arch-rivals however rain poured down and interrupted the match, followed by which the most anticipated game was cancelled without any result.

Before the start of the IND vs PAK game, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. In the first inning, the Pakistani pacers displayed a stunning inning after the three pacers picked all the wickets.

Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blues struggled in front of the Men in Green fast bowlers and lost a few quick wickets. However, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya were the saviours of the team after they played a solid partnership to lead India to 266 in the first inning.

Ishan Kishan scored 82 runs from 81 balls with a strike rate of 101.23. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya played an 87-run knock from 90 balls with a strike rate of 96.67. Apart from Kishan and Pandya no players could cross the 50-run mark.

Shaheen Afridi picked four wickets and dismissed Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, and Hardik Pandya. Whereas, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took three wickets each in the first IND vs PAK game.

Babar Azam-led Pakistan needed to make 267 runs in the second inning to win the first IND vs PAK match, however, the drizzling did not stop and forced the match officials to abandon the high-voltage game without any result.

The upcoming match between the two arch-rivals in the Super Four match will be a test for Rohit Sharma’s side before they go on to face again the Pakistani fast bowlers.

Will rain disrupt the upcoming IND vs PAK Super Four match?

According to Google Weather, the forecast for Sunday (September 10th) in Colombo showed that there is a 90% chance of rain during the match time. Thunderstorms are also predicted by the Google Weather.

Recently, there have been debates regarding changing the venues of the Super Four matches to Hambantota due to weather conditions. However, as per PTI, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) denied the request and stated that the Super Four and the Final match will be played in Colombo itself.
