Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has scored three double-centuries in ODI cricket and the last of them came against Sri Lanka on December 13, 2017. Rohit scored an unbeaten 208 that powered India to a mammoth total of 392/4 in Mohali. Sri Lanka reached as far as 251/8 losing the match by 141 runs.
While he recalled his third ODI ton, Rohit said that it was the best gift that he could have given to his wife. Incidentally, he played the knock on his marriage anniversary. For his wife Riitika, that knock remains her favorite ever.
While talking to Mayank Agarwal on a session with “Open the Nets With Mayank”, Roohit shared a few secrets that he discovered in the lockdown and also recalled his knock against Sri Lanka.
“As you can see my wife got emotional there, this day was special as it was my anniversary. Probably the best gift I could give it to her while I am on the field, it was quite emotional though,” said Rohit during his appearance in Episode 2 of the ‘Open Nets with Mayank’ with teammates Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan.

“At first I had no idea she cried. When I came from the ground, I just asked her why did you (Ritika) cry? So she told me that she thought I (Rohit) twisted my hand when I dived for my 196th run and that was a little worrying factor for her, she got little emotional of because of that I guess,” Rohit added.
Rohit will lead the Indian team in the ongoing Asia Cup followed by the upcoming ICC World Cup at home. India have not won an ICC title in the last decade and Rohit has the responsibility of ending the trophy drought for India. His first Test starts with the game against Pakistan in Pallekele in the Asia Cup on Saturday, September 2.
