The IND vs PAK Super 4 match is currently underway in Colombo and Shubman Gill has been given an early life inside the first 10 overs. Pakistan won the toss and asked India to bat first. This is the first Super 4 game for India while the second for Pakistan.

India lost three wickets against Pakistan in the previous game, but so far the Indian openers have dominated the Pakistan pacers. It was Rohit Sharma who led by example by hitting Shaheen Afridi for a six in the very first over.

Shubman Gill then got into his groove and scored runs quickly. He hit scoring shots and got a life in the eighth over of the Indian innings when the ball went through the slip cordon.

Naseem Shah who has looked the best of the Pakistan bowlers managed to get an edge from Gill’s bat that went through the first and the second slip. Iftikhar Ahmed was standing at the first slip while Agha Salman at the second slip it was the keeper Mohammad Rizwan who went for the catch.

All of it was very comical in the end with both the slip catchers not seeing the ball go in between them. It was like adding insult to injury. The Pakistan bowlers and fielders unlike the previous match have looked a bit tentative in this game so far.

For India KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah are back on the Indian side. Rahul replaced Shreyas Iyer while Bumrah replaced Mohammed Shami in the XI. Pakistan added Faheem Ashraf an additional seamer in the XI instead of Mohammad Nawaz.

There is a 90 percent chance of rain in the India-Pakistan Super 4 contest on Sunday. The previous match between the two sides was called off due to rain. Meanwhile, there is a forecast of rain in Colombo in all the remaining games starting with this epic clash. There is a reserve day (September 11) allotted for the Indo-Pak game in case it is rained out on September 10, Sunday.

The ACC had earlier decided to shift the Super 4 matches to Hambantota from Colombo but then decided to make a U-turn on their decision despite knowing the rain threat as per trusted weather channels.
