India Cricket Team have arrived in Colombo for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The Rohit Sharma-led side took a flight on Wednesday (30th August) morning and will now be gearing up for the tournament. They will open their campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on 2nd September in Kandy.
As they arrived in Colombo, the glimpses of them walking out of the airport and boarding the team bus went viral on the internet. Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya were seen chatting about something whereas captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid, Mohammed Shami, and Ravindra Jadeja were seen bursting into laughter inside the team bus.

India team will be heading into the tournament on the back of some good preparations. The Men in Blue had a six-day camp in Bengaluru where they underwent various batting, bowling, and fielding sessions along with fitness drills as well.
India will be without the services of star batter KL Rahul, who hasn’t traveled with the team. The keeper-batter faced a fresh niggle after recovering from the injury he had. Head coach Rahul Dravid mentioned that he will miss games against Pakistan and Nepal.
In his place, Ishan Kishan will be the front-runner to keep the wickets. But the big question remains where will he bat? The left-hander has had a great success at the top but with Shubman Gill there, the team might look to play in the middle, where he doesn’t have great outings.
India are placed in group A alongside Pakistan and Nepal. After the first game on 2nd September, they will play the second game on Monday (4th September). The tournament will be a great preparation for them for the ICC World Cup 2023.
