Fans on X reacted after Indian batter Sanju Samson slammed a blistering ton in the ongoing third ODI against South Africa. The series decider between the teams is taking place at Boland Park in Paarl. 

Sanju Samson has finally made his opportunity count as he has played a sensational knock in the game against South Africa. The batter came to bat when India lost both the openers early and were reeling at 49/2. 

It was then that Sanju Samson took the fort and eased into the innings. The keeper-batter bailed the team out of trouble and made sure that he got fully set before unleashing himself at the Boland Park in Paarl. 

Sanju Samson first settled in and easily took runs. He made sure that his team didn’t lose wickets at regular intervals like they did in the last game. He stitched a crucial partnership with Tilak Varma (52) and put the team in a strong position in what has been a tricky pitch. He also became the first Kerala cricketer to score a hundred in international cricket.

Sanju Samson brought up his maiden international ton in 110 balls and helped India go past 230 runs on the board with ease. This ton would mean so much to the keeper-batter because he hasn’t got consistent opportunities in the team due to the other batters performing well.

Sanju Samson ended with the knock of 108 runs off 114 balls. He batted with a strike rate of around 95 and slammed 6 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. He perished to Lizaad Williams as he tried to take him on but was caught. The right-hander, who batted at No.3, would’ve sent a strong message to selectors for future games. He has a great record in ODIs as he has an average of over 56 with 3 fifties and 1 century to his name from 14 innings.
