The Indian Cricket Team had an awful start to their innings as they lost half of their side inside the first 10 overs in Perth against the Proteas. South African pacers bowled impeccable lines and lengths as they hardly gave any freebies. The team had lost both of their openers in the power-play overs and once again the responsibility was on Virat Kohli.
South Africa on the other hand, was quite magnificent. It looked as if the bowlers had a clear game plan against the batters. Lungi Ngidi was the pick of the bowlers as he used tricky variations to fox the batters, however, Suryakumar Yadav stood tall to score a fine half-century.
Virat Kohli Achieves a Feat
Virat Kohli was looking in good touch but managed to score only 12 runs in 11 balls where he struck 2 fours. The batter was eventually dismissed by Lungi Ngidi in the 7th over.
Virat now has amassed 1,001 runs in 22 innings and now has joined Mahela Jayawardene in the 1,000 runs club. The former Sri Lankan Captain had scored 1,016 runs at an average of 39.07 in 31 matches.
Virat Kohli On a Roll
The star right-handed batter so far has had a stellar T20 World Cup 2022. It won’t be wrong to say that Asia Cup 2022 was the turning point where the batter rediscovered his mojo. The management would be hoping that he guides the team in the middle overs phase as he knows how to play the waiting game.
Head Coach Rahul Dravid would be mightily pleased as the old Vintage Virat Kohli is back. Virat is looking like a man on a mission as the way he batted like Pakistan was quite fantastic. The management would be well aware of the fact that Virat can’t win the championship alone as he needs support from the rest of the batters.
