Virat Kohli played a decent knock with the bat in the ongoing second Test against South Africa. The series decider between the two teams is taking place at Newlands Park in Cape Town, which has seen wickets galore.

In reply to South Africa’s first innings total of 55 runs, India were off to a decent start as Rohit Sharma (39) and Shubman Gill (36) batted well. After that Virat Kohli took the onus to himself and looked well settled at the crease. While wickets fell around him, he made sure that he kept going and played some breathtaking shots.

Virat Kohli had really held the one end and it seemed that he would get a big score. But the start of the third session was horrible for India and they lost Kohli as well. It was a staggering delivery from Kagiso Rabada and the batter couldn’t have done much to it.

Kagiso Rabada bowled a length ball in the corridor of uncertainty. Virat Kohli jabbed at it with hard hands and got a thick outside edge. Aiden Markam in the slip took the brilliant catch to send the batter packing.

After Virat Kohli got out, what caught the attention of many was the reaction of Anushka Sharma, who was in the stands. The wife of the cricketer couldn’t believe that his husband got out as she gave a stunned reaction.

Here’s the video:

Virat Kohli looked in good touch and played some great innings. He scored 46 runs and kept India in the game while wickets kept falling at the other end. He continued his golden touch from the last game, where he scored 38 and 76. His knock came at the crucial stage when India lost well-set Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

IND vs SA: After Virat Kohli’s wicket, India gets all out for 153 runs

After Virat Kohli got out, the wickets fell in a flash. From 153/4 India went to 153/10. Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada were the key architects behind the Indian collapse. They picked three wickets each in two overs and wrapped up the batting innings in no time.

Apart from Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada, Nandre Burger bagged three wickets as well. South Africa bowled exceptionally well in the third session and had their tails up. Thanks to the heroics of the bowlers, they conceded a lead of just 98 runs.

India then had a great start with the ball in the second innings. Mukesh Kumar did the carnage with the ball as he picked up two wickets. Jasprit Bumrah also chipped in with one as they reduced South Africa to 62/3 at stumps on Day 1.

The visitors are still 36 runs ahead and would be hoping to bundle out the opposition as early as possible. As many as 23 wickets fell on Day 1 of the ongoing second Test between India and South Africa. Overall, the day went to pacers and it gave a real insight of what is about to come in the next day. It won’t be a surprise if the game ends on Day 2.
