IND vs SA: Watch - Rajat Patidar Looks Clueless To Peach By Nandre Burger

Rajat Patidar didn’t have a fruitful outing in his debut game as he bagged a low score against South Africa in the ongoing third ODI. The series decider between the two teams is taking place at the Boland Park in Paarl, where Proteas put visitors to bat first. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad‘s injury paved the way for Rajat Patidar to make his debut in the third game against South Africa. The batter opened the innings for his team and played some breathtaking shots that kept the crowd up and going. 

Rajat Patidar was looking set for a big knock with the way he started the innings. But his stay at the crease by cut short by the staggering delivery from Nandre Burger. The left-arm pacer bowled an overpitched delivery that swung back in after pitching. 

Rajat Patidar tried to slog but the ball caught the inside edge of the bat and the ball went on to hit the leg stump. Pacer Nandre Burger pulled out an aggressive celebration after removing the batter and was quite elated.

Nandre Burger took his revenge to his perfection as he was earlier hit for a big six. He was pumped up after the wicket. He drew the first blood for his time and left the host tottering at 34-1. 

Rajat Patidar played a fine knock of 22 runs off 16 balls. He smashed three fours and 1 six in his innings, making sure that his team gets off to a fine start. He added 34 runs partnership with Sai Sudharsan (10), who after a few overs was removed by Beuran Hendricks. 

IND vs SA: After Rajat Patidar and Sai Sudharsan, KL Rahul perishes for 21 

After India lost both the openers in Rajat Patidar and Sai Sudharsan, skipper KL Rahul and Sanju Samson bailed the team out of trouble and played a decent hand together. The duo added 52 runs for the third wicket and made sure that their team didn’t lose more wickets after flattering early on. 

KL Rahul looked all set for a big knock but he bagged an unfortunate dismissal. Wiaan Mulder bowled a length ball on leg to which the batter tried to pull away. He got an under edge and the ball lobbed off the thigh pad and straight into the hands of keeper Heinrich Klaasen.  

KL Rahul scored 21 runs off 35 balls and slammed two fours in his innings. His wicket came against the run of play and his side was left tumbling at 101/3. The onus will now be on Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma to take the team forward. The keeper-batter is looking solid at the crease and is looking set for a big ton. It will be a great opportunity for him to assert his authority in the team after a lean patch.

The series between India and South Africa stays leveled at 1-1. India would be hoping to take the lead and win the series.
