Indian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns against Sri Lanka in the T20I Series commencing on 3rd January (Tuesday).  The flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya is named the skipper whereas Suryakumar Yadav surprisingly has been named vice-captain.

The Men in Blue would be keen to make a mark against Sri Lanka. Skipper Hardik Pandya would be well aware of the fact that Sri Lanka has a lot of pinch hitters present in the team who have the knack to change the dynamics of the match quickly.

Shivam Mavi on Hardik Pandya

Shivam Mavi was seen interacting with PTI and was asked about Hardik Pandya. “Hardik Pandya supports every player. He is a great leader. It is very difficult to be the IPL Champions in the first outing but he managed to do it. He led Gujarat Titans from the front and became champions. He is a calm leader but took some bold decisions,” said Shivam Mavi.

“As a captain, Hardik bhai is very shrewd and a master tactician. He knows exactly whom to bowl when and whom to promote in the batting order. I know it is not going to be easy for me but I am hoping to get a game, perform there and be a regular for India,” he added.

Shivam Mavi on Getting a Call-up

Shivam Mavi was asked whether he made any changes in his bowling. “I didn’t do anything different. I just worked hard in the nets. I know I can generate speed, so just concentrated bringing variations into my bowling. It paid off as I became more consistent this year,” said Mavi.

“They taught me how to bowl, how to to plan out things. It’s a great feeling and a proud moment to represent your country. Shubman & Prithvi made their India debuts before me but I knew it’s all about the right time. Every individual has his or her luck and time,” he added.
