After his 5-wicket haul in the IND vs PAK super four encounter of Asia Cup 2023, Kuldeep Yadav has achieved a rare record against Pakistan in ODIs. The left-arm spinner has become the 5th bowler to grab a 5-wicket haul against Pakistan.
Kuldeep Yadav hunted 5 wickets off his 8 overs in the IND vs PAK clash. He conceded just 25 runs in his spell bowling at an economy of 3.10. The left-arm orthodox spinner dismissed Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, and Fakhar Zaman in the match.

Kuldeep Yadav Only India Bowler To Get a 5-wicket Haul Against Pakistan In the Asia Cup
Kuldeep Yadav is now the 5th Indian bowler to grab a fifer against Pakistan in ODIs. Other Indian bowlers in the list are Sourav Ganguly, Arshad Ayub, Venkatesh Prasad, and Sachin Tendulkar.
Moreover, Yadav has another record to his name. In Asia Cup clashes between India and Pakistan, Yadav has become the 3rd player to get a five-wicket haul. Aaqib Javed and Arshad Ayub are the only two other bowlers with the same feat. Hence, Yadav is the only Indian bowler on the list.
Kuldeep Yadav is in stunning form in 2023. With 27 scalps in 14 ODI games, he is the highest wicket-taker for India this year. He owns an average of 15.22 and an economy of 4.87. In the previous clash against Nepal, he went wicketless. However, made a stunning comeback against Pakistan.
Meanwhile, India crushed Pakistan by 228 runs in the Asia Cup 2023. Batting first in the match, India piled up a total of 356-2 in 50 overs with half-centuries by Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58). Virat Kohli (122*) and KL Rahul (111*) shattered tons.
Later, Pakistan was bowled out for just 128. Fakhar Zaman was the top run-getter for the team with 27 runs. Agha Salman (23) and Iftikhar Ahmed (23) were next on the list.
India will now face Sri Lanka in their next encounter on Tuesday (September 12). The match starts at 3 PM IST. The venue of the encounter is R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
