India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant couldn't make a bigger impact with the bat in the ongoing game against the United States of America (USA) in the T20 World Cup 2024. The 25th match of the tournament between the teams is underway at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
After India lost Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma early, Rishabh Pant took center stage and it seemed that he would continue his good form and take his team home. This was because the batter looked in great touch as he played some gorgeous shots in his innings.
Rishabh Pant was looking good but his stay at the crease was cut short by the brilliance of Ali Khan. The USA pacer bowled a sensational delivery to which the India keeper-batter had no answers and had to take the long walk back to the pavilion at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Ali Khan bowled a superb delivery that kept low and skidded through off the pitch from length. The ball angled back in after pitching on the middle stump and went under the bat as Rishabh Pant tried to defend. The ball crashed into the stumps to make a mess of it.

Rishabh Pant couldn't carry on the start that he had with the bat as he perished at the crucial juncture of the team. The keeper-batter ended with an innings of 18 runs off 20 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 90 and also hit one six and one four in his innings at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
After Rishabh Pant got out, Suryakumar Yadav (50*) and Shivam Dube (31*) held the fort and although batting wasn't tough, they made sure that they stayed there till the end. The duo stitched 72 runs together and took their team to the 7-wicket win at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Earlier with the ball, Arshdeep Singh oozed his class with the ball. The fast bowler returned with the career-best figures of 4/9 and helped his team get to the top. Based on his rollicking effort with the ball, India restricted the opposition to a total of 110 runs at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
The plan was simple, pitch it in the wicket and let the ball do the talking - Arshdeep Singh after his performance
Arshdeep Singh talked about his performance with the ball and claimed that he was happy with the way he performed. He talked about his plan, saying that he didn't want to give easy balls and hit the hard lengths. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained:
"Very very happy with the performance. In the last two games, I gave away a few more runs, and wasn't happy with that. The team always showed belief in me and kept backing me, I had to deliver for them. The wicket is very conducive to fast bowlers and it's helping us get some seam movement. The plan was simple, pitch it in the wicket and let the ball do the talking.
"Don't give easy balls to score, our batsmen are also facing difficulties to score runs. The plan was to hit the hard lengths. In conditions like this, you can use the wicket more. When you are playing international cricket, you need to have some routines and the way you take care of your body counts. All the bowlers have done extremely well, looking forward to do the same in the next leg as well."
