Virat Kohli’s next assignment for Team India will be the Asia Cup 2023 starting from August 30. Currently, the former Indian skipper is on a break as a younger squad led by Hardik Pandya is playing a T20I series against West Indies.
Virat Kohli had scores of 76 and 121 in the Test series. He did not get a chance to bat in the first ODI that he played. He along with Rohit Sharma were rested for the next two ODIs.
The two batters last played T20I cricket for India in the T20 World Cup 2022. India’s semi-final loss against England was the last time both of these players played their last T20I for India.
However, with the Asia Cup and World Cup coming up, Kohli and Rohit will be back in the Indian team. The two batters will be a part of a training camp with other players before leaving for the tournament.
The Asia Cup 2023 will be played from August 30-September 13. A total of 13 matches will be played with four games in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka. The tournament is being played in the hybrid model. The India-Pakistan match in the tournament will be played in Pallekele on September 2.
Kohli recently while going out met a group of fans who asked for a selfie. He promised to click a selfie with them before he departs for Asia Cup 2023 on August 23.
