IND vs WI: Rohit Sharma Becomes Only Indian Batter To Be In Top 10 ICC Test Rankings

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma at 36 is leading by example as he entered the Top 10 in the ICC Test rankings. He’s now the only batter from his country to feature in the top 10. The veteran opener came into the scene after his scintillating knock in the first Test against West Indies.

Rohit Sharma blasted a magnificent 103-run knock against West Indies at Dominica and helped his side win the game. He played very controlled innings and made sure that his side get a great start. The Indian skipper batted over 220 balls and also smashed 10 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.

Rohit Sharma’s sensational knock saw him becoming the new 10-ranked batter aged of Rishabh Pant (11th) and Virat Kohli (14th) as the highest-ranked Indian batter. Apart from him, his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal also made a maiden appearance in the ICC rankings.

Rohit Sharma Climbs Up In The Latest ICC Rankings

Yashasvi Jaiswal set the stage on fire in his debut match as he played a breathtaking innings of 171 runs against West Indies and was also awarded the Player of the Match award. With his knock, he became the 73rd-ranked batter in the ICC rankings for Test batters.

In terms of bowling, Ravichandran Ashwin, who picked 12 wickets in the game against West Indies, extended his lead at the top of the bowling rankings. He picked a five-wicket haul in the first innings and followed it with seven wickets in the second essay to help his side win the game.

Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan extended his lead at the top of the list for bowlers in T20Is after the series against Bangladesh. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan climbed up eight places on the T20I bowler rankings to 16th along with Nasum Ahmed bagged the 33rd spot. In the batting, Litton Das rose three places to equal 18th on the list for T20I batters. The stand-in skipper scored 53 runs in two games.
