India National Cricket Team captain Hardik Pandya after winning the fourth T20I against West Indies National Cricket Team showered praise on the opening batsmen Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.

Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 84 runs in the match off 51 balls, including 11 fours and 3 sixes. While Shubman Gill scored 77 runs off 47 balls, with 3 fours and 5 sixes. They were also involved in a tremendous 165 runs partnership in just 94 balls.

Winning the toss and batting first, West Indies posted 178/8 on the board with the help of amazing batting performances from Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope. Meanwhile, India chased down the target within 17 overs to win the game by 9 wickets.

Speaking after the match, Hardik Pandya thanked the fans for coming to the stadium to support the Men In Blue. Hardik Pandya said:

There are more Indians here. The way they have been supporting us, they make sure that we give them some entertainment. There is no doubt in their skill set. Going forward, we’ll have to take responsibility as batters and help our bowlers.”

Hardik Pandya further showered praise on Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal for helping India win. He admitted that they made a few mistakes in the first game which resulted in their loss, but was confident of winning the last T20I.

“Shubman and Yashasvi were brilliant. The way they ran in the heat … and … they finished the job. I like to captain how I see the game. I like to go with my instincts,” Hardik Pandya said.

“It was our own error in the first game. We didn’t do much different in the next two games. All these games gives us a lot of confidence. We had to pull up our socks and play good cricket, that’s exactly what the boys did. In T20 cricket, no one’s favourite. You got to respect the opposition. Tomorrow we turn up and do exactly what we did today,” Hardik Pandya said.

With the victory in the match, India have leveled the series 2-2 and the series decider will be held on Sunday, August 13 at the same venue.
