Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar highlighted a weakness in Suryakumar Yadav’s batting following his brilliant knock during the third T20 against the West Indies. Sanjay Manjrekar pointed out that Suryakumar Yadav won’t have difficulty facing back-of-length deliveries.
The Men in Blue bounced back in the five-match T20I series against the West Indies after losing the first two games. The Hardik Pandya-led team beat the Rovman Powell-led team by seven wickets in the third T20I match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Tuesday, August 8.
Force Him To Play Towards Long On & Long Off – Sanjay Manjrekar
Sanjay Manjrekar suggested that the most effective approach against Suryakumar Yadav is to bowl full and force him to play towards long on and long off.
“The only way to minimise ‘Surya carnage’ is to bowl full, right upto him. Force him to play towards long on & long off, against the pace. Any thing back of length, you will get neck strain watching the ball disappear into the stands,” Manjrekar tweeted.
The 32-year-old came to the crease in the first over and showed an immediate impact by smashing a four and a six in his first two balls. He went on to score 83 runs off 44 deliveries, including 10 fours and four sixes. He was named Player of the Match for his exceptional knock.

Kuldeep Yadav Shone With The Ball
Earlier, the West Indies set a target of 160 runs for the opposition after opting to bat first. Skipper Rovman Powell played a cameo innings, scoring 40 runs off 19 balls. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets and conceded just 28 runs in his allotted overs.
Debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to make an impact as he was dismissed for one run. Shubman Gill registered his third single-digit score in the ongoing series. Tilak Varma (49) formed crucial partnerships with Suryakumar and skipper Hardik Pandya to complete the run chase.
