Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh feels that even though Tilak Varma failed to grab victory for India in IND vs WI 1st T20I, he will win many games for the team in the future. Tilak Varma made his international debut in India vs West Indies 1st T20I on Thursday (August 4).

Batting at No.4, the right-handed batsman also smacked a brilliant knock of 39 runs off 22 balls. However, he lost his wicket to Romario Shepherd in the 11th over. Since he was the best performer for India with the bat, his wicket gave a big blow to the visitors, who ultimately lost by 4 runs in the end.

“I can’t say it was the turning point. It is his way of playing. He plays a lot of attacking shots and, in those, he might give chances as well. But, as we have seen, he has a lot of talent. He played really well on his debut’, the left-arm pacer said.

Arshdeep Singh also reckoned that Tilak Varma lost his wicket because he was under pressure. The Punjab pacer also believes Varma will win a lot of games for India in the future.

“He was under pressure, not to forget that we were chasing. He played some beautiful shots and came up with very good innings. He should always back his game and, in the future, he will win a lot of matches for the team,” the 24-year-old added.

Arshdeep Singh had to showcase his batting skills in the final over when Team India needed 9 runs off 4 balls. The left-handed scored some runs with the bat but he was not able to help India win the match.
