Former captain Virat Kohli is on the brink of achieving another significant milestone in his international cricket career, becoming the fourth Indian to do so. Virat Kohli will complete his 500th international appearance during the second Test match against the West Indies in the ongoing series.

The Rohit Sharma-led team started the two-match series against the West Indies with a win in Dominica. India hammered the Windies by an inning and 141 runs in the series opener to take a 1-0 lead. The second Test will take place at the Port of Spain in Trinidad starting on Thursday, July 20.

Virat Kohli Set To Join Elite List

The 34-year-old batter looked in good touch with the bat in the first game. The right-handed batter scored 76 off 182 balls with the help of five boundaries. Unfortunately, he fell short of achieving his first overseas century in the past five years as he was dismissed by Rahkeem Cornwall.

Since then, he has established himself as one of the greatest batters in modern cricket with his consistent performances across all three formats. He played for India in 110 Tests, 274 ODIs, and 115 T20Is in his career.

Sachin Tendulkar leads the elite list with a remarkable 664 appearances for India across all three formats of the game. Tendulkar holds the record for the highest run scorer in both Tests and ODIs. MS Dhoni, who is the only captain to have won all three ICC tournaments, represented India in 535 matches.
