Veteran Indian player Dinesh Karthik feels that Yashasvi Jaiswal looks like a 10-year player. He also said that Yashasvi Jaiswal has many qualities which make him a perfect batter for the future.

Yashasvi Jaiswal recently made his international debut in the IND vs WI Test series. Batting as an opener, Jaiswal shattered a stunning 171 run-knock in his debut game. He also won the Player of the Match award for his astonishing batting show in IND vs WI 1st Test.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Looks Like A 10-Year Player: Dinesh Karthik

While speaking to Cricbuzz, Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik said that Yashasvi Jaiswal looks like a 10-year player. According to Karthik, the 20-year-old opener knows how to defend and go after someone while batting.

“There is a man who looks like he could very well be a 10-year player. He is a left-hander, knows how to leave a ball, knows how to defend it if it is hard, but most importantly, you want him to play a few shots, and my God, he can really go after you”, Karthik said.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore player Karthik also added that Jaiswal might find it hard to get a place in ICC World Cup 2023. However, no one can stop him after the tournament.

“You get the feeling he might find it hard to be in this World Cup squad, but post the World Cup, I don’t see anybody stopping him,” Karthik further said.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s batting heroics were not just limited to IND vs WI 1st Test. In the 2nd Test too, the Mumbai player scored 67 and 38 across two innings. With 266 runs in 3 innings in IND vs WI Test series, Jaiswal ended as the highest run-getter in the series.

The opening batter got a national call-up after his impeccable batting show in IPL 2023. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, he finished as 5th highest run-getter in the tournament. He smacked 625 runs in 14 games during the season, registering an average of 48+ and a strike rate of 163.

Jaiswal also slammed a ton in IPL 2023 and a total of 5 half-centuries. He also scripted the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history. In a clash against KKR, the RR opener stormed a half-century off 13 deliveries.
