India Women player Sneh Rana underwent serious pain and walked off the field in the ongoing game against Australia Women. The second ODI between the teams is taking place at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Asked to field first, India Women kept things tight with the ball and chipped in with regular wickets. They have put the opposition under pressure and have picked 6 early wickets to be at the top of their game.

While their bowling has been nothing short of exceptional, one of the threatening moments also took place during the game in the first innings. During the 5th ball of the 25th over, Shreyanka Patil bowled a flatter delivery that was outside off to Beth Mooney.

The Australian batter tried to cut it between the backward point and the point, where Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar were stationed. Both charged to save the single and ended up colliding with each other and both were down.

The collision affected Sneh Raha more as she was down immediately after that and was seen holding her head. The physios ran out to look upon her and things didn’t look great at all. She walked off the field with an ice pack to the side of her head.

Here’s the video:

A few overs later, Sneh Rana was back in the field and thankfully she looked fine. She then came to bowl as well and was decent with the ball as well. She removed Australia batter Ashleigh Garnder as well and put her team in a staggering position in the game.

Gardner came down the track to hit the ball from Sneh Rana over the boundary ropes. She didn’t get the power right and was caught at long-on. The batter scored just 2 runs off 6 balls. Indian bowler ended with the figures of 59/1 in her 10 overs.

IND-W vs AUS-W: Apart from Sneh Rana, Deepti Sharma picks wickets

Apart from Sneh Rana picking wickets, Deepti Sharma has been the chief architect of India’s carnage with the ball. The all-rounder has spun the web around the batters and has taken five wickets with the ball. The opposition batters looked clueless against her as he bowled great deliveries. She has been the team’s go-to bowler as he often steps up when there’s a need for the team

Deepti Sharma returned with the figures of 5/38 in her quota of 10 overs and helped the team big time. She removed Ellyse Perry (50), Beth Mooney (10), Tahlia McGrath (24), Annabel Sutherland (23) and Georgia Wareham (22).

Her staggering heroics with the ball saw India Women restricting Australia Women to a total of 258/8. India women would’ve been gutted with themselves as they dropped as many as seven catches in their innings. They reduced the opposition to 170/5 at one stage but after that leaked a lot of runs and came under pressure. The series between the two teams currently stands at 1-0 with visitors in the lead. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side would be hoping to chase the target and level the series.
