India A squad for Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 announced, Tilak Varma named captain

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday (12th October) announced the squad of the A team for the upcoming Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024. The tournament will be played from October 18 and 27 in Oman and will see a total of 8 teams taking part in it.
Tilak Varma will be captaining the A team in the tournament. Abhishek Sharma, who has made himself a huge name, is the opener in the team along with Prabhsimran Singh and Anuj Rawat, who both will serve as openers as well the wicketkeepers for the team in the Emerging Asia Cup 2024.
Ayush Badoni, who had a record-breaking Delhi Premier League T20, also has been named in the team. Mumbai Indians star Nehal Wadhera has also made the cut into the team. The duo will be handling the middle-order responsibilities for the side in the tournament.
The BCCI has included quite a few all-rounders in the team for the Emerging Asia Cup 2024. The likes of Nishant Sindhu, Ramandeep Singh, and Hrithik Shooken will be playing an important role for the team with both bat as well as ball and will be key for the side.
Tamil Nadu spinner Sai Kishore and Rahul Chahar are the two frontline spinners in the team. While the pace battery includes Anshul Kamboj, who set the stage on fire in the Duleep Trophy with 8 wickets in one innings, Rasikh Salam, who was the star for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, Aaqib Khan, and Vaibhav Arora, who was a part of KKR.

India A are placed in Group A of the Emerging Asia Cup 2024
The Men in Blue are placed in Group A of the Emerging Asia Cup 2024. They are placed alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Oman. On the other hand, Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, and Hong Kong are placed in Group B.
The top two teams from both groups will move to the semi-finals. The knockout games will be played on 25th October. The final of the Emerging Asia Cup 2024 will be held on October 27
India A will be opening their campaign against Pakistan A
The Tilak Varma-led side will be opening their campaign against Pakistan A on October 19th. After that, they will be seen in action against the United Arab Emirates on 21st October. Following that, they will be locking horns with Oman in their last Group stage stage.
