India takes on England in the fifth and final Test in Dharamsala from March 7-11. They have already won the series by winning the last three Test matches. After England’s win in Hyderabad, India came back strongly. They won the second Test by 106 runs in Vizag, the third by 434 runs in Rajkot, and the fourth Test in Ranchi by five wickets while chasing.
Heading into the fourth Test, the Men in Blue are leading the WTC points table. They will also be bolstered by the return of Jasprit Bumrah in the playing XI. Meanwhile, KL Rahul continues to remain out of the team as he is treating his quadricep injury and eyeing a return to the IPL.

Jaiswal will keep his place in the XI and open the batting. He has scored 655 runs in the series so far at an average of 93.57 with two double tons. He is eyeing to surpass Virat Kohli’s tally in the fifth Test.

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill will bat at three, He silenced all his critics with his match-winning knock of an unbeaten 52 in the second innings at Ranchi. He has already scored a hundred in the series. Gill is the second-highest run-getter with 342 runs.
Devdutt Padikkal

There are reports that Padikkal is likely to replace Rajat Patidar in the fifth Test. The southpaw joined the Indian Test squad before the third Test. The 23-year-old lanky left-hander, has scored 2227 runs in 31 first-class appearances at an average of 44.54 with six centuries and 12 half-centuries. This season he has scored over 500 runs in domestic cricket.
Ravindra Jadeja

Jadeja has been promoted to number five in the batting order as he is a crucial left-hander, The southpaw has scored 217 runs in the series so far and picked up 17 wickets. The left-arm spinner is eight shy of 300 Test wickets.
Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan will slot in at six. He scored fifties in both innings of his Test debut. In the Ranchi Test though, he scored 14 and 1. The management is keen to give him a longer rope.
Dhruv Jurel

Jurel will slot in at seven. He played two key knocks of 90 and 39* in the Ranchi Test and was chosen as the Player of the Match. He was praised for both his batting and keeping skills and the way he handled himself in the Test match.
Ravichandran Ashwin

Ashwin will slot in at eight. He is all set to play his 100th Test match. He will join an elite list of Indian cricketers to play 100 Test matches for the country. He has taken 17 wickets in the series so far and went past 100 wickets against England and 500 overall.
Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep will slot in at nine. He has shown great maturity with the bat in the series and has taken wickets with the ball as well. There are talks of him being rested in Dharamsala but he should be given another chance. The chinaman bowler has taken 12 wickets in the series so far.
Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah will return to the Indian playing XI in Dharamsala after being rested from the fourth Test in Ranchi. He has taken 17 wickets in the series so far. The pacer went past 150 Test wickets earlier in the series.
Mohammed Siraj

Sirah concludes the likely XI for India in Dharamsala. The selection of Siraj will mean that Akash Deep might be benched after his Test debut in Ranchi. In case he too is selected, India might have to drop Kuldeep. Siraj has taken six wickets in three Test matches so far.
