India takes on Zimbabwe in the fifth and final T20I on Sunday. They have already won the series 3-1 by winning the fourth T20I on Saturday. Now they are looking for a 4-1 victory. They won by 10 wickets in the fourth T20I as Gill and Jaiswal chased down the target of 153 inside 16 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 93 while Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 58.
After the first T20I loss, the young Indian team under Shubman Gill has responded well to the pressure of coming back in the series and potentially winning it. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube joined the side ahead of the third T20I and excelled in their responsibility.
The batters have scored runs and the bowlers have taken wickets. The only major blip so far has been Riyan Parag not getting runs in the series. He did not play in the third T20I. The team under Shubman Gill delivered an excellent performance and the same squad might be played in the final game as well.
Team India will travel to Sri Lanka later this month for a T20I and ODI series. It will be interesting to see who is selected from this squad. The T20I retirement of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja have opened up opportunities for some of the younger players to make a case for themselves.
