India will be up against Australia in the fourth of the five-match T20I series. This article provides details about India's Playing 11 vs Australia for the fourth match of the series.
India Playing XI vs Australia- 4th T20I, India Tour of Australia 2025:
Openers: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill
The Men in Blue would look to earn back-to-back wins against Australia in the ongoing T20I series when the two teams go head-to-head against each other in the fourth game.
The visitors came back strongly in the third match after a disappointing performance in the second game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and would aim to carry the same form in the upcoming match in order to take an important lead in the series.
For that to happen, the visitors would bank on the opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill to get the team off to a good start in the first six overs and score runs individually as well.
Abhishek would want to keep up the good work that he has done since making his T20I debut, while his partner Gill, who is in desperate need of runs, would want to get back into form in this format.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar
If we talk about the middle order, it made a decisive contribution in the last match, with the biggest positive being the form of captain Suryakumar Yadav, who played an important knock of 24 runs off just 11 balls.
In addition that Surya formed small but crucial partnerships with Shubman Gill and Tilak Varma to take India closer to the target.
Having said the batter who turned the game completely in India's favour was played by Washington Sundar, who, although he didn't get to bowl but made up for it with a blistering knock of 49 runs off 23 balls, which took India over the line.
Sundar was well supported by Jitesh Sharma, who also played his part by scoring 22 runs of 13 balls in the sixth wicket partnership, which was worth 43 runs.
The visitors are expected to stick with the approach of having depth in the batting, which came in handy in the last game, and go into the fourth T20I with an unchanged playing XI.
Bowlers: Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah
The bowlers also did their job by restricting Australia to a manageable total in the last match after a calculated assault from Tim David in the middle overs.
The pick of the bowlers was Aeshdseep Singh, who was drafted into the playing XI in the previous match and made an instant impact by picking up three wickets
Arshdeep was well supported by Jasprit Bumrah, who kept things tight from the other end, and the duo would be entrusted to do the same in the next game.
Although the Indian bowling lineup did its job collectively with the spinners Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy restricting the flow of runs in the middle overs, the only concern for the visitors was the fifth bowling option.
Shivam Dube fulfilled the role of the fifth bowler and gave away plenty of runs in the middle and backend of the Australian batting innings, which raises the question about the decision to bowl him in the final five overs.
It would be interesting to see if there is a change in Shivam Dube's role in the upcoming match, or the captain and the team management decide to back the fast bowling all-rounder to bowl the difficult overs.
