India will be up against Sri Lanka in the sixth match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025. This article provides details about India's Playing 11 vs Sri Lanka for this particular match.

India Playing XI vs Sri Lanka- Asia Cup 2025, Super 4 Match 6:

Openers: Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma

India would aim to end the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025 on a positive note, i.e., with a win against Sri Lanka, who already stand eliminated from the eight-team tournament.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side would look to put yet another solid performance like they have done in the competition so far.

Having said that, the defending champions would be somewhat disappointed with the way they were not able to capitalize on the solid platform laid by the openers in the first six overs against Bangladesh, and would like to rectify that in the upcoming game.

The Men in Blue are expected to open the batting with the in-form opening pair of Abhishek Sarma and Shubman Gill, both of whom adjusted well to the conditions while batting against Sri Lanka, and would wish to replicate that against Sri Lanka.

The duo added 72 runs for the first wicket after struggling to time the ball in the first three overs of the powerplay.

Both Abhishek and Shubman were equally aggressive as they took on the opposition bowlers after getting used to the pace of the wicket.

It was due to the first wicket partnership between Shubman and Abhishek that India posted a competitive total of 168 runs despite losing wickets at regular intervals in the middle overs.

Talking about individual performances of both batters, Abhishek scored yet another half-century but was unfortunately run out, while Shubman was caught on the boundary in an attempt to hit Rishad Hossain for six.

The youngsters would hope for another strong outing with the bat against a strong Sri Lankan bowling lineup.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Suryakumar Yadav (c), Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson (wk), Axar Patel

The openers will be followed by a middle order, which underwent a lot of experimentation in terms of change in batting positions in the previous match against Bangladesh.

Going by the approach of the team management, the experiment is expected to continue in the match against Sri Lanka as well.

If the case remains so, we might see Shuvam Dube batting number three like he did against Bangladesh, although without much success.

Another interesting thing to watch out for would be the batting position of India's first-choice wicketkeeper in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, who happens to be Sanju Samson.

Sanju, who was pushed down in the batting order against Bangladesh, didn't get to bat, which came as a surprise, as he is someone who, although he has scored a fifty in the competition, hasn't looked in rhythm so far

The match against Sri Lanka might witness Sanju batting higher up in the order, which will result in him getting a much-needed hit in the middle before the final.

Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah

As far as India's bowling lineup is concerned, it will comprise the same combination of three spinners and one specialist fast bowler, with two fast bowling all-rounders also at the helm.

The onus will once again be on the spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Axar Patel to provide the team with breakthroughs in the middle overs.

It was this trio that pulled things back in the middle overs against Bangladesh after the opposition got off to a good start.

The spinners will be entrusted with the responsibility of replicating a similar performance against the neighbors.

When it comes to the fast bowling department of the team, it will be handled by Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, with Shivam Dube also chipping in with an over or two

Having said that, there is a possibility that Jasprit Bumrah might be rested for this particular game, considering that the result of this particular clash won't have any effect on the tournament.
