India Squad for Asia Cup 2023 Announced, Shreyas Iyer Ruled Out, Tilak Varma Makes The Cut

Former Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh made a huge remark while predicting India’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup and said that the regular starters, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma won’t stay for a long time in the team.

The Men in Blues had a disappointing West Indies tour, as they lost the five-match T20I series by 3-2 after losing the fifth game by eight wickets. However, they managed to clinch a series victory in the ODI series by 2-1.

While speaking on his official YouTube channel, Harbhajan Singh talked about India’s tour of the West Indies and said that it is a big concern for the Men in Blues but the young Indian squad had learned a lot from it.

Singh further said that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma weren’t included in the squad for the limited-over series and that the two Indian cricket legends won’t stay for a long time.

“I thought India would win that series easily. But the result has left many shocked and concerned. I was taken aback as well because West Indies, a team that did not make the World Cup, beat us. This indeed is a big achievement for West Indies, but a major concern for India. Yes Kohli and Rohit weren’t there, they won’t stay for long, but this young brigade that had toured West Indies have a learn a lot from this. I previously said that India can make 2-3 teams, and they still can, but the results are yet to reflect,” said Harbhajan Singh.

Pakistan are going to host the Asia Cup 2023 but since there is ongoing political turmoil going on between the two neighboring countries, India will lay all their matches in Sri Lanka.

India will lock horns against Pakistan in their first game of the tournament on September 2nd at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka.
