A couple of India National Cricket Team limited-overs regulars will most likely be rested for the upcoming tour of the West Indies, according to a Cricbuzz report.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors have not yet finalised the names of players, who will be rested for the 8-match series against West Indies, however, the players, who will be given the break, will most likely be the seniors of the India National Cricket Team.

India National Cricket Team white-ball players, except captain Rohit Sharma, are currently in Southampton for the first match of the 6-match limited-overs series against the England National Cricket Team.

Meanwhile, former India batter VVS Laxman, who was India’s head coach in the recently concluded Ireland series, is also travelling with the team. He recently managed India during the two warm-up games, against Derbyshire and Northamptonshire, in the absence of Rahul Dravid, who was with India’s Test squad for the rescheduled Test match against England.

The T20I games of the series will be played on July 7 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, July 9 at Edgbaston, Birmingham, and July 10 at Nottingham’s Trent Bridge.

The three ODIs will be played on July 12, July 14 and July 17 at The Oval, Lord’s and Old Trafford respectively.

After the conclusion of the series, India will fly to Trinidad for the white-ball series against West Indies.

India National Cricket Team are all set to play three One Day Internationals and five T20 Internationals in the upcoming tour of West Indies, between July 22 and August 7 in the Caribbean and the US.

As per Cricbuzz, India’s squad for the series was set to be announced a few days ago, but there has been a delay because the BCCI selection committee has not yet finalised on the rest issue. Chetan Sharma, the BCCI selection committee chief, may have a chat with the players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant among others after the Test match.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is likely to take part in all the games against West Indies as India head coach Rahul Dravid has already worked with several different captains during his short tenure.
