India tour of Bangladesh 2022 Schedule Announced; Indian Cricket Team To Play 3 ODIs And Two Tests

For three one-day internationals and two tests, Men in Blue will arrive in Bangladesh on December 1. Dhaka will host three ODIs and one Test, while Chattogram will play host to just one Test, as per the Bangladesh Cricket Boards’ schedule, which was released on Thursday.

The ODI series in Dhaka on December 4, 7, and 10 marks the start of the tour.

The first Test will be played in Chattogram from December 14 to December 18 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, and the tour group will then travel to Dhaka to play the final Test from December 22 to 26. Leaving Bangladesh on December 27 for India.

Both tests are a part of the ICC World Test Championship, where Bangladesh is currently in last place in the nine-team tournament with 13.33 percentage points and Men in Blue is currently in fourth place with 52.08 percentage points.

Bangladesh was last visited by Men in Blue on a multi-format tour in 2015. The lone Test that time was a draw, and Bangladesh won the ODI series 2-1.

Nazmul Hassan, the president of the BCB, predicted that the two teams would play tight matches in December.

Hassan said, “The recent Bangladesh-India matches have produced some epic battles, and fans from both countries are eagerly anticipating another memorable series. I thank the Board of Control for Cricket in India for working closely with the BCB in confirming the schedule. We look forward to welcoming the Indian team to Bangladesh.”

India and Bangladesh’s matchup has grown quite competitive in recent years, per BCCI secretary Jay Shah, “I wish the Bangladesh Cricket Board all the best for the upcoming bilateral series with India, Due to the huge fan bases that the two teams have, the India-Bangladesh matches pique fans’ interest to a great extent.”
