India U-19 Team All Set To Be Felicitated By The BCCI In Ahmedabad After The World Cup Victory

The winners of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022; the India U-19 team, are all set to be felicitated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in Ahmedabad.
The ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 final took place between Yash Dhull-led India U19 and Tom Prest-led England U19 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua, on Saturday, February 5. Notably, Yash Dhull-led India won the match by 4 wickets.

India U19 are the most successful team in the history of the Under-19 World Cup, as in the 14 seasons they have entered the final 8 times and have won the championship 5 times.
With India’s U19 World Cup 2022 victory skipper Yash Dhull has joined the likes of Mohammad Kaif, Virat Kohli, Unmukt Chand, and Prithvi Shaw who have guided India to the World Cup titles in the past. Kaif captained India to a title win in 2000, while Kohli did it in 2008, Unmukt in 2012, and Shaw in 2018.
Also, the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Sunday announced a cash reward of Rs 40 lakh each for the India U-19 squad members and Rs 25 lakh each for support staff.

Meanwhile, the India U-19 squad will take the long flight back home on Sunday evening with connecting flights from Amsterdam and Bangalore before eventually landing in Ahmedabad.
The senior Indian men’s players are also in Ahmedabad for the three-match One Day International series against West Indies National Cricket Team. The U-19 boys might not get an opportunity to interact with the senior side because they are in the bio-bubble.
“It has been a hectic schedule for the boys who have little time to rest. They will get some rest after they land in India,” said a BCCI official.
Meanwhile, the India U-19 players, after the win, were felicitated by the Indian High Commissioner K J Srinivasa in Guyana. Also, National Cricket Academy chief VVS Laxman was with the team throughout the tournament and took care of the team in the wake of the Covid-19 spread in the camp.
