Former Team India captain Kris Srikkanth has predicted the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2025 final clash between India and Pakistan. Srikkanth stated that India have an edge over Salman Ali Agha’s Pakistan side in the high-stakes final, adding that he won’t give the Men in Green even a 1% chance.

The summit clash between India and Pakistan is set to take place on Sunday, September 28, in Dubai. India have won the last four T20Is between the sides, including both matches in the ongoing tournament. Pakistan managed to reach the final despite losing twice to India in the eight-team tournament.

I Won't Give Pakistan Even a 1% Chance - Kris Srikkanth

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Kris Srikkanth predicted a one-sided final between India and Pakistan. Srikkanth stated that the return of Jasprit Bumrah to the playing XI would be a game-changer. He added that the Men in Blue struggled against Sri Lanka due to the absence of Bumrah.

"I won't give Pakistan even a 1% chance. Yes, you can ask what happened against Sri Lanka and how India were almost beaten. Don't forget Jasprit Bumrah didn't play in the match," Srikkanth said.

"And Harshit Rana, who is a sub-par bowler, played. He is just a film bowler. The Sri Lankan batters derived full confidence only after smashing him. There is an ocean of difference between Bumrah and Harshit Rana," he added.

India have won their last four T20I encounters against Pakistan, including both matches in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. Overall, the Men in Blue have been in exceptional T20I form, winning 35 of their last 38 matches.

After a surprising loss to Pakistan in the 2022 Asia Cup, India have won seven consecutive matches across formats against their arch-rivals.

Kris Srikkanth Confident India Can Beat Pakistan Even Without Abhishek Sharma

The former opener expressed confidence that India will comfortably defeat Pakistan in the final, even if star opener Abhishek Sharma fails with the bat. Srikkanth stated that India’s batting lineup has depth and can handle Pakistan’s bowling attack regardless of individual performances.

"India will absolutely clobber Pakistan. Yes, Abhishek Sharma is the main man for India. But I've been asked by many on what will happen if Abhishek Sharma fails."

"Even assuming he fails tomorrow through the law of averages, we still have Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson back in form, along with Tilak Varma, who has done well in limited opportunities," said the former chief selector.

Pakistan Are Playing with Shaheen Afridi as the Main Batter - Kris Srikkanth

Kris Srikkanth pointed out that Pakistan relies heavily on Shaheen Afridi. He added that Sharma is unlikely to get out early unless he gets himself out, given his current form.

"On the other hand, Pakistan are playing with Shaheen Afridi as their main batter. So even if Abhishek's runs are discounted or if he fails, Pakistan stands no chance against India. Although in the current form, I don't see Abhishek Sharma getting out early unless he gets himself out," the 65-year-old added.

Abhishek is the leading run-getter for the tournament. He has scored 309 runs from six innings at an average of 51.50 and an impressive strike rate of 204.64, including three half-centuries. The batter has also smashed 19 sixes, seven more than the next-highest hitter.
