The two teams’ final is a replay of the T20 World Cup 2022 championship game, which Australia easily won in their own backyard. We Know The Style Of Play India Are After: Beth Mooney
However, by showcasing Australian depth in the squad, Ashleigh Gardner highlighted once again how Australia differs from the rest of the world in women’s cricket. She not only saved her team from loss by snatching victory from the jaws of defeat but also by smashing a half-century.
“We know the style of play they are after, they come hard early with the bat and they have got a lot of spin in their line-up as well to slow us down with our batting,” Mooney was quoted as saying after Australia defeated New Zealand in the second semifinal.
“We know their style of play, they know ours too, so I think it’ll be a great contest. I think they’ll certainly test us at different times, but hopefully we’re in a position where we can counterattack that and got some momentum and really come out tomorrow firing.”
Australia Go Past New Zealand With Another All-round Performance
Australia defeated New Zealand in the second semi-final of the Commonwealth Games thanks to Megan Schutt’s three wickets and again another strong performance by their batters.
After challenging the current T20I and ODI world champions, New Zealand was left to regret numerous squandered opportunities.
However, Australia’s depth in the batting department survived the strain when Schutt made early gains thanks to a fifty-run stand between Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath and a very composed innings from Ashleigh Gardner to win by five wickets.
At Edgbaston, India and Australia will compete for the gold medal. The game will kick off at 9.30 IST.
