Punjab Kings opening batter Priyansh Arya, who hails from Delhi, was questioned on whether he felt ok to lose in front of Virat Kohli in the IPL final, to which the batter strictly refused and claimed that he was unhappy even then and is disappointed till now.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore ended their 18-year-long drought of a title in the IPL with their maiden win in IPL 2025. They defeated the Punjab Kings, who were also targeting their maiden title in the tournament's history. Only the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals remain as sides to have never won the cup.
However, keeping aside the disappointing final loss, many of the PBKS players acknowledged personal highs in the edition, especially the likes of opener Prabhsimran Singh and debutant Priyansh Arya.
Some players also stated that they felt happy for Virat Kohli and RCB when they won the IPL 2025 title. Notably, Virat Kohli's trophy cabinet has been missing an IPL title since its inception.
The jinx was however, broken when RCB beat Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final and handed Virat Kohli his 1st ever IPL trophy. Virat Kohli was seen crying which clearly indicated how much the trophy meant to him.
Priyansh Arya refuses to bow down to Virat Kohli's charisma
Recently, after a DPL match, Priyansh Arya was questioned on whether he felt a little less disappointed or felt content that they lost the IPL final to the great Virat Kohli.
However, unlike many young players who often, out of devotion to the great batsman, make comments that do not reflect sportsman spirit and determination to win, Priyansh strictly said he was then and is still disappointed in the IPL final loss.
"Na to mai us time khus tha na baad me (Neither was I happy then, nor am I happy now)," said Priyansh Arya to the interviewer who attempted to flabbergast him through Virat Kohli's charisma.
His attitude seemed clear that, whoever his opponent may be, his clear goal is to win matches for his team, and a loss would affect him to a similar extent. Arya expressed the same disappointment after the IPL final ended in a loss for the Punjab Kings, and the youngster was brought in for a post-match interview.

Punjab Kings lost the opportunity to have their hands of the maiden IPL trophy
The Punjab Kings had revamped their entire squad under new coach Ricky Ponting, who assumed office as their head coach before the mega-auction and hand-picked the players he wanted on his side with a huge purse in their bank.
Ponting picked Shreyas Iyer, the IPL-winning skipper, for a whopping INR 26.75 Crores, and the KKR ex-captain proved his worth both with the bat and with his captaincy. He took PBKS to their second IPL final in all these years of participation.
After having played outstandingly throughout the season, the PBKS batters failed to be promising in the IPL final, and the top order collapsed early. Josh Inglis's wicket was a turning point, while Marcus Stoinis was also back to the pavilion too early.
Shashank Singh's stunning innings could bring PBKS closer, but they fell short by just a shot, as RCB won the match by 6 runs to claim their maiden title.
Priyansh Arya's dominant debut in IPL 2025
After a stunning DPL debut last season for the Delhi Superstarz, where he amassed 608 runs with an average of 67 and a strike rate of almost 200. He hit 6 sixes off a bowler's over, also scoring 2 centuries in the edition.
This was followed by promising seasons in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and he was hence picked by the Punjab Kings as their only opening option. He secured an INR 3.8 Crore deal and proved his worth with 475 runs in the debut season with a strike rate of almost 180.
He also scored his maiden IPL century on debut and will be an exciting player to watch out for in the coming years.
