IPL 2018: Seven Bookies Held in Guntur, Money Recovered

The Guntur Urban Police has red-handedly caught seven people in cricket betting in the city. Guntur Police Superintendent of Police (SP) Vijaya Rao revealed during the raid police seized cars, bikes, TV sets, cell phones, and cash from the arrested bookies.
Moreover, Rao also confirmed that there would be strict actions against these bookies.
While addressing the media in Guntur on Saturday (May 12), Rao said that a person named as Alapati Ramakrishna of Chebrolu village lodged a complaint against cricket bookies.
Consequently, the police were able to track them down in the successful raids on cricket betting centres at Koyavaripalem of Prathipadu Mandal.

Also, Rao revealed the bookie names- Nama Purnachandra Rao of Koyavaripalem and assistants Vadranapu Venkatesh of Sita Nagar, Kakarla Arun Babu of AT Agraharam, Bodalapati Siva Nageswara Rao of Koritapadu, Patalam Sadik of Tadikonda and Kokipati Ramakrishna of Guntur.
Rao added that the policemen were successful in seizing a car, two bikes, TVs, 13 cell phones, three ATM cards and INR 2.97 lakh cash from the arrested people.
Meanwhile, Guntar SP added that Nagarampalem police of Guntur city arrested A. Raviteja aka Naga, who was working as a sub-bookie in cricket betting gang.
In addition, this is not a first time that the police is arresting people involved in cricket betting. As the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going on, these type of cases gets manifold.
Furthermore, two people were nabbed in Hyderabad and five bookies were arrested in Bangalore recently. Subsequently, police vowed to take stern action against the culprits.
Recently, we similarly noticed an in Gurgaon in the initial phase of the domestic professional Twenty league. Pertinently, the law agencies are taking the action well in time.
