Abdul Samad was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020 auction. The 19-year-old cricketer play for Jammu and Kashmir at the domestic level. Samad is majorly a batsman. The right-handed batsman has played 10 First-class, 11 List A, and 28 T20 matches so far.

He did play 12 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020, however, his performance was not up to the mark particularly with the bat. In IPL 2021, it is highly likely that Abdul Samad might be benched throughout the tournament.

Basil Thampi

Kerala-based cricketer Basil Thampi has been part of the Indian Premier League since the 2017 edition. Thampi represents Kerala at the domestic level. He is a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Thampi played for Gujarat Lions in IPL 2017. Since 2018, the 27-year-old cricketer is part of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Thampi played 12 matches for Gujarat Lions in IPL 2017 in which he grabbed 11 wickets.

In IPL 2018, 2019, and 2020, Thampi played a total of 8 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad in which he claimed 6 wickets. In IPL 2020, he just played one match in which he grabbed one wicket for 46 runs. In IPL 2021 Sunrisers Hyderabad already have spectacular pace bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma, Siddharth Kaul and T Natarajan in the team. Therefore, Thampi might be refrained from playing 11 throughout IPL 2021 tournament.

Jagadeesha Suchith

Jagadeesha Suchith was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad during IPL 2021 auction for Rs. 30 lakh. The 27-year-old cricketer plays for Karnataka at the domestic level. He is a bowling all-rounder and has played in IPL 2015, IPL 2016, and IPL 2019. Jagadeesha Suchith played for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2015 and IPL 2016. He represented Delhi Capitals in IPL 2019. Left-arm bowler Jagadeesha Suchith played 13 matches in IPL 2015 and grabbed 10 wickets.

In IPL 2016, he was allowed to play only one match in which he remained wicketless. In IPL 2019 too, he played only one game claiming two wickets to his name. For the spinner’s spot in the team, Sunrisers Hyderabad already have Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman. Therefore, Jagadeesha Suchith will find it difficult to grab a place in the playing 11 of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021.

Virat Singh

Left-handed batsman Virat Singh was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020 auction for rupees 1.9 crores. However, he has not been given any chance to play in the field. 23-year-old Virat Singh plays for Jharkhand at the domestic level. He has played 30 First-class, 45 List A, and 61 T20 matches so far. In IPL 2021 too, Virat Singh might be benched as Sunrisers Hyderabad comprise of brilliant batsmen like Kane Williamson David Warner, Manish Pandey, Vijay Shankar, Kedar Jadhav and Jonny Bairstow.

Shreevats Goswami

Shreevats Goswami has been part of the Indian Premier League since the very first edition in 2008. However, even after the completion of 13 editions of IPL, Goswami has played only 31 matches. The wicket-keeper batsman was part of Royal Challengers Bangalore from IPL 2008 to IPL 2010. He played for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2011 and later represented Rajasthan Royals from IPL 2012 to 2014.

Since 2018, the left-handed batsman is part of Sunrisers Hyderabad. In IPL 2020, he played just two matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad. For the wicket-keeper’s spot, Sunrisers Hyderabad have Wriddhiman Saha and Jonny Bairstow in the team. There is already stiff competition between these two players for the wicketkeeper’s spot. Therefore, Goswami might find it difficult to grab a spot in the playing 11 in IPL 2021.
