Veteran Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh has confirmed that his contract with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has come to an end ahead of the IPL 2021 auction. The off-spinner had not played the last season as he had withdrawn from the tournament owing to his mother’s ailing health.

Harbhajan was signed by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2018 auction as the Punjab-based star worked wonders for the team in the maiden campaign as CSK led to IPL glory that year. Harbhajan Singh has been among one of those players who has been there in the IPL ever since the inception way back in 2008.

Harbhajan Singh Confirms His Contract Termination With Chennai Super Kings Ahead Of The IPL 2021 Auction

On Wednesday, Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter and shared an emotional message for the CSK clan, stating that his journey with the franchise has officially come to an end.

He took to Twitter and wrote, “As my contract comes to an end with @ChennaiIPL, playing for this team was a great experience..beautiful memories made &some great friends which I will remember fondly for years to come..Thank you @ChennaiIPL, management, staff and fans for a wonderful 2years.. All the best.”

Chennai Super Kings had their poorest IPL outing last season in the absence of star players including Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh. They failed to qualify for the IPL playoff for the first time in their IPL history, last season as they ended their IPL campaign on the seventh spot in the IPL 2020 points table.

Harbhajan Singh Has Been One Of The Star Bowlers In The History Of IPL

Harbhajan has been among the most successful bowlers in the history of the Indian Premier League. The star bowler from India has gone on to play a total of 160 matches in the cash-rich league, wherein, he has picked 150 wickets so far. He has previously played for Mumbai Indians from 2008 to 2017.

He has played a total of 24 matches for Chennai Super Kings in the two IPL seasons, IPL 2018 and IPL 2019. In these games, he has gone on to pick 23 wickets for the franchise, with 16 of them coming in IPL 2019.
