IPL 2021: Hope MS Dhoni’s Parents Recover Quickly From COVID-19; Support Has Been Set Up For His Family, Says CSK Coach Stephen Fleming

Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming hopes that MS Dhoni’s parents recover quickly from Covid-19. The CSK coach also informed that the management has set up support for MS Dhoni’s family back in Ranchi. MS Dhoni’s mother Devaki Devi and father Pan Singh Dhoni were tested positive for Covid-19. They are admitted to a private hospital in Ranchi.

MS Dhoni is currently in Mumbai leading Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021. On Wednesday (April 21), Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs to register their third victory in the tournament. MS Dhoni scored a quickfire of 17 runs while batting and took three catches in the match.

The CSK skipper also reached the milestone of 150 dismissals in IPL, the first wicketkeeper to achieve the feat in the tournament.

Hope MS Dhoni Parents Recover Quickly: Stephen Fleming

While speaking during the post-match presentation, CSK coach Stephen Fleming briefed the media that MS Dhoni’s family situation is under control.

“Not a lot of talk about this (Dhoni’s family) between the players. But from the management’s point of view, we are well aware of his family’s situation. Support has been set up for his family. I had a talk with MS and the situation is under control for now. We will monitor the situation for the next few days,” Stephem Fleming said.

Fleming also hopes that MS Dhoni’s parents recover quickly and the management will ensure that the CSK skipper gets the support that he needs.

“It is a tough time for everybody, especially in India at the moment. We are spending quite a lot of time talking about care in the wider group of friends and family. We have that responsibility to ensure MS has the support that he needs. We hope his family recovers quickly,” Stephen Fleming further said.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings have shown an outstanding performance in their last three matches of IPL 2021. After losing to Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in the first game, Chennai Super Kings won three back-to-back matches in IPL 2021. Chennai Super Kings defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets in their 2nd match.

Later they overpowered Rajasthan Royals after defeating them by 45 runs. In their previous match, CSK defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs.

With 3 victories in 4 games, Chennai Super Kings have moved to the top of the points table with 6 points. Chennai Super Kings will next lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 22.
