Lisa Sthalekar, the Australian cricket commentator and former cricketer and captain of Australia’s international women’s cricket team hate the way star Australian opener David Warner is being treated by the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Speaking at CricBuzz Live Lisa Sthalekar stated that it’s “heartbreaking” to see the poor position of David Warner in the SRH team considering his past achievements with the franchise. She asserted:
“It’s actually very heartbreaking when you think of the fact that David Warner has produced so much for that franchise. He has led them to so many finals, obviously title victory in 2016. I don’t know what’s going on behind but it has to be massive for them to be treating him like this. It doesn’t sit well with me regardless of what he has done. I hate it to be honest, I hate it.”
Talking about his achievements with the Orange Army, David Warner is the highest run-getter for Hyderabad in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he has managed to score over 4000 for SRH at an average of 49.55 and strike rate of 142.59
They Are Not Going To Keep Him Next Year, I Would Like Them (Srh) To Let Him Play The Last Game –Lisa Sthalekar
Many experts believe that Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 was the last season of David Warner with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and he will no longer be a part of the franchise next year. Therefore Sthalekar wants SRH to give Warner a farewell match. She stated:
“Since they are not going to keep him next year, I would like them (SRH) to let him play the last game because how many Hyderabad fans they have lost because of the way they have treated Warner,”
