New Zealand skipper and SunRisers Hyderabad batsman Kane Williamson has given an update on his recovery after missing out on the first two games of the season for the ‘Orange Army’ due to fitness issues.
The Kiwi skipper and one of SunRisers Hyderabad’s biggest match-winner, Kane Williamson, did not feature in the first two games of IPL 2021 due to the elbow injury he suffered during the home summer.
The elbow injury that Williamson suffered back in February missed out on the home series against Bangladesh which included three One-day Internationals and as many T20Is.
In a recent video uploaded by SunRisers Hyderabad Twitter handle, Kane Williamson has assured his fans that he will ready to walk out on the field within a week.
”Recovery is going really well and you know it’s been focused to get pain free as quickly as possible, and we are certainly tracking really nicely and hoping to be fit and ready within the week.” said Kane Williamson.
“It’s been a bit of balance between practice and rehab and sorts of things. But, for most part, the progression has been really good. So, pretty optimistic about being close to full fitness very soon.” he added.

SunRisers Hyderabad have clearly missed the calm of Kane Williamson in the last two matches, especially in the last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore where the ‘Orange Army’ bottled a match-winning position to eventually go down by 6 runs.
Willaimson was in brilliant form last season, in which he racked up 317 runs in 12 games at an average of 45.28 and a strike rate of 133.75 with 3 50-plus scores.
