Having disappointed their fans in the first half of IPL 2021, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) would look to make a turnaround in their fortunes in UAE.  The second phase of IPL 2021 is scheduled to be played in UAE from 19th September to 15th October 2021. KKR are likely to depart for UAE by the end of this month.

Their two key Indian bowlers, Varun Chakravarthy and Kamlesh Nagarkoti are yet to receive the green signal from NCA to participate in the second leg of IPL 2021. Both are undertaking fitness Tests and are yet to receive clearance from the National Cricket Academy.

KKR have let their fans down for the second consecutive season, enduring a horrendous outing in the first half of IPL 2021. KKR are one of the most popular franchises in IPL. They are only the third franchise after MI and CSK to lift more than one IPL title. They have got a huge fanbase. However, for the last couple of years, they haven’t managed to step up to the fans’ expectations.

Their star overseas players namely Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Pat Cummins endured another forgettable season. The Indian contingent too didn’t inspire a lot with their performances. Kolkata Knight Riders have only secured two wins out of seven matches thus far. Be it batting or bowling, Kolkata Knight Riders needs improvement in all departments of the game.

Nevertheless, they still have 7 matches remaining this season. All KKR would be wanting is a great start to the second leg. Kolkata Knight Riders will be playing their first game in UAE against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 20th September 2021 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Kolkata Kight Riders Full Squad For IPL 2021 Second Phase

In what comes as a major blow, Pat Cummins has made himself unavailable for the second leg of IPL 2021. In his absence, Lockie Ferguson is likely to lead the pace-bowling department. Eoin Morgan will continue leading the unit, while Dinesh Karthik will done the wicket-keeping gloves.
