IPL 2021: Kolkata Knight Riders Complete Squad For 14th Edition

Kolkata Knight Riders, the winners of IPL 2012 and IPL 2014, arrived in IPL 2021 auction with Rs. 10.75 crore available salary cap. With 17 players already in the squad ahead of the mini-auction, Kolkata Knight Riders had eight available slots in their team. KKR bought eight players during IPL 2021 auction, out of which there were three overseas players and five Indian players. KKR spent Rs. 7.3 crore to buy these 8 players.

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was KKR’s costliest deal. The former Bangladesh skipper Hasan was bought for Rs. 3.2 crore, against his base price of Rs. 2 crore. The left-handed batsman was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team when they won IPL 2012 and IPL 2014 final.

Harbhajan Singh, who was released by Chennai Super Kings, was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs. 2 crore during the auction. Ben Cutting was another popular name Kolkata Knight Riders went for during IPL 2021 auction. The 32-year-old all-rounder was bought at his base price of Rs. 75 lakh. Karun Nair and Pawan Negi made their way into KKR with Rs. 50 lakh each.

Ahead of IPL 2021 auction, Kolkata Knight Riders released 6 players. There were Chris Green, Harry Gurney, M Siddharth, Nikhil Naik, Siddhesh Lad and Tom Banton.

Kolkata Knight Riders retained 17 players ahead of the auction namely Eoin Morgan, Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Kuldeep Yadav, Lockie Ferguson, Nitish Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Rinku Singh, Sandeep Warrier, Shivam Mavi, Shubman Gill, Sunil Narine, Pat Cummins, Rahul Tripathi, Varun Chakravarthy and Tim Seifert.
