IPL 2021 has so far witnessed four breath-taking games as matches come thick and fast. The fifth match of the tournament is now all set to take place between two-time champions, Kolkata Knight Riders and the defending champions of the tournament, Mumbai Indians.

Both these teams have had a contrasting result in their opening fixture of the tournament. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have won the toss in the 5th match of IPL 2021 against Mumbai Indians (MI) and elected to field first. For Mumbai Indians, the bright side was how Chris Lynn batted in the last game. However, with Quinton de Kock’s availability for selection in this match against KKR, Lynn might have to, unfortunately, compromise his place. Marco Jansen was another great find in the first match and Mumbai Indians will surely like to go ahead with him in the second game too.

Mumbai Indians (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Quinton de Kock(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Marco Jansen, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah

Kolkata Knight Riders (Playing XI): Nitish Rana, Shubman Gill, Rahul Tripathi, Eoin Morgan(c), Andre Russell, Dinesh Karthik(w), Shakib Al Hasan, Pat Cummins, Harbhajan Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Varun Chakravarthy

Mumbai Indians Hungry To Bounce Back

Mumbai Indians will certainly be looking to bounce back in the tournament after losing their opening fixture to RCB by a margin of 2 wickets. It has been Mumbai’s tradition to lose the opening fixture as they have never gone on to win their opening match of the tournament since 2012. However, they have been the most successful IPL team in this duration as they have won 5 IPL titles so far.

KKR, on the other hand, will like to make it 2 wins in 2 games to go on top of the IPL 2021 points table. A lot will depend on the toss as dew will certainly play a key role in the second innings and the team that wins the toss would love to field first in Chennai.
