After claiming an easy victory against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their first match of this IPL 2021, the IPL 2020 runners-up Delhi Capitals (DC) suffered a close three-wicket defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the close low-scoring match.

Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw provided a strong start in their first game as they had the 138 runs partnership in that 189 runs chase where Shaw scored 72 off 38 balls and Dhawan scored 85 off 54 balls as the other batsmen only have to secure the victory in that game.

In their second match, while all the other batsmen were struggling, skipper Rishabh Pant scored crucial 51 runs before getting run out.

Among the Delhi Capitals bowlers, Avesh Khan has highly impressed who has taken five wickets in two games of this IPL 2021. Also, England cricketer Chris Woakes has got four wickets this season after playing two games, while South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada (IPL 2020 Purple Cap winner) played his first game of this IPL 2021 in their last match and got two wickets.

Chris Gayle scored 40 off 28 balls in their season opener while Deepak Hooda scored 64 off 28 balls. But in their second game, the entire PBKS batting line-up hugely struggled, except Shahrukh Khan who scored 47 runs in that match.

Delhi Capitals are the much-balanced side as their major places have been covered really well. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings still have to prove many things, especially in their bowling squad and middle-order batting line-up. Though Delhi Capitals can begin as the favourite for the forthcoming contest, PBKS also have some high-quality players who can single-handedly control the matches.
