Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will now face Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 22nd match of this IPL 2021 at Narendra Modi Stadium (Ahmedabad) this Tuesday (27th April) night.
RCB won all their first four matches as they beat SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Only in their last game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), RCB suffered their first defeat in this IPL season, and that too in a big way.
IPL 2021, Match 22: Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (DC vs RCB) – RCB Predicted Playing XI
Virat Kohli (C)
Captain Virat Kohli is currently in good form as he has scored 151 runs in five innings of the IPL 2021. Though his first two innings of this tournament were identical 33 runs off 29 balls on each occasion, those were crucial in the tough batting pitch. He scored 72 not out against Rajasthan Royals to secure the 10-wicket victory.
Opener Devdutt Padikkal scored a century against Rajasthan Royals where he scored 101 not out. In their last game against CSK, Padikkal provided the fiery start of 34 runs off 15 balls. He is now in strong form with the bat where he is only looking for runs.
AB de Villiers (wk)
South African cricketer AB de Villiers has already played two crucial match-winning knocks in the IPL 2021. After scoring 48 runs against Mumbai Indians in their season opener, De Villiers scored 76 not out off just 34 balls against KKR in their third game of this season.
Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell is the leading run-scorer for RCB in this IPL 2021 as he has scored 198 runs in four innings of this tournament. His scores in this tournament are 39, 59, 78 and 22 runs which prove his incredible consistency with the bat.
Another Australian cricketer Daniel Christian has got limited opportunities in his three matches of this IPL 2021. While he has scored only 3 runs with the bat, Christian hasn’t picked up a wicket in his five overs of this tournament.
Shahbaz Ahmed can return to the RCB playing XI who missed out on the last game. He was one of the heroes for RCB during their match against SRH, where his three wickets in one over totally changed the situation of that game. However, despite playing two more matches after that game as he has played four matches in the IPL 2021, he hasn’t delivered another ball yet.
Washington Sundar has picked up 3 wickets in five matches of this IPL 2021 while he has delivered 12 overs. Though he has been sent to the top of the batting order a couple of times, he has failed to impress with his batting as his scores in this tournament are 10, 8, and 7 runs respectively.
Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams can replace New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson as RCB can now give some rest to New Zealander. The left-arm pacer Daniel Sams can bring variety to the RCB bowling line-up. Moreover, he is a powerful lower-order batsman.
Harshal Patel has highly impressed in the IPL 2021 as the Purple Cap holder has picked up 15 wickets in five matches of this tournament. While he is outstanding in this season, his only dark spot was the last over against CSK where Ravindra Jadeja smashed him for 37 runs (including one no-ball).
Mohammed Siraj has also impressed with the ball in this IPL 2021. Though he has picked up 5 wickets in five matches, his economy rate in this tournament is 6.47 as he is very disciplined with the ball in every challenge.
Navdeep Saini played his first match of this IPL 2021 during the last game against CSK where he had bowling figures of 2-0-27-0. However, RCB may utilise him more before taking any decision about his fate in this IPL season as Saini has to prove his consistency with the ball.
