England off-spinning all-rounder Moeen Ali can’t wait to learn the art of captaincy from the legendary MS Dhoni in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.

Moeen Ali was racked up by the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings for a whopping sum of Rs 7 Crore in the mini-IPL auction after he was let go by the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Speaking to PakPassion.net, Moeen said that playing under the leadership of probably one of the greatest-ever limited-overs captain in Mahendra Singh Dhoni is on every cricket’s wish-list and ahead of his captaincy stint in the inaugural season of the ‘Hundred’, he can’t wait to hone his leadership skills by playing under the champion former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman.

”I think it’s on every cricketer’s wish-list to play under MS Dhoni and I am no different. I’ve captained previously and I’ll be captaining in The Hundred this year so it will be a great opportunity to learn about the art of captaincy from Dhoni at the IPL,” said Moeen Ali.

Ali further added that he is also looking forward to playing alongside the veteran duo of Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja, stating that he has been a huge admirer of the duo for a long period of time.

The Pakistan-born English cricketer said that his upcoming IPL stint is a great opportunity for him to learn from his fellow cricketers and great coaches like Stephen Fleming and Mike Hussey.

”I’m also looking forward to playing alongside Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja, who are guys that I have admired for a long time and I feel that we play a similar type of cricket. This is a good opportunity to learn a lot from these guys, as well as the great coaches Chennai Super Kings have in Stephen Fleming and Mike Hussey,” said Moeen Ali.

The 14th season of the Indian Premier League will kickstart from April 09 when defending champions Mumbai Indians square off against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai. Moeen Ali’s potential CSK debut will come when the three-time winners lock horns with the Delhi Capitals in Mumbai, a day later.
