Royal Challengers Bangalore bought 8 players in IPL 2021 auction, increasing their squad to 22 players after the conclusion of the mini-auction. With Rs. 35.90 crore in their account, the Virat Kohli-led side made two huge deals in the IPL 2021 auction. RCB bought Kyle Jamieson for Rs. 15 crore and Glenn Maxwell for Rs. 14.25 crore. RCB, who has always observed the lack of a leading bowler, will depend upon New Zealand pacer Kyle Jamieson to lead the bowling attack from the front in IPL 2021.

RCB’s highlight in IPL 2021 auction was buying Glenn Maxwell. There was a nail-biting bidding war between Royals Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings to buy Australia cricketer Maxwell, but RCB managed to win the bid in the end. With the addition of Australian batsman, RCB now comprises hard-hitting batsmen like AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell in the squad.

RCB retained the least number of 12 players ahead of the auction. Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Devdutt Padikkal, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Joshua Phillipe, Pavan Deshpande, Shahbaz Ahmed, Adam Zampa, and Kane Richardson were among RCB’s retained list.

Ahead of IPL 2021 auction, Royal Challengers Bangalore opted to drop 10 players from their squad. Chris Morris, Shivam Dube, Aaron Finch, Umesh Yadav, Dale Steyn, Moeen Ali, Parthiv Patel, Pawan Negi, Isuru Udana and Gurkeerat Mann were among the released players.

Interestingly, some of RCB’s released players attracted a heavy amount in IPL auction 2021. For instance, Chris Morris was picked by Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 16.25 crore, Shivam Dube bagged Rs. 4.4 crore deal with Rajasthan Royals and Moeen Ali bagged Rs. 7 crore-contract from Chennai Super Kings.
