Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar was very impressed by Shahrukh Khan’s batting cameo for Punjab Kings in their match against Delhi Capitals. Shahrukh Khan, who is playing his debut IPL season in IPL 2021, smashed 2 fours and 1 six off the 20th over of Chris Woakes to provide a magnificent finish to Punjab Kings’ batting. Punjab Kings finished with 194-4 batting first. However, they lost to Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets in the end.

Openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal gave an astonishing start to Punjab Kings while batting first. Both managed an incredible partnership of 122 runs in 12.4 overs before Agarwal lost his wicket. Rahul hit 61 runs off 51 balls, while Agarwal smashed a blistering knock of 69 off 36.

However, Punjab Kings lost some quick wickets that decreased their run rate after the 12th over. In the end, Shahrukh Khan managed to smash 15 runs off 5 balls to take Punjab Kings to 194-4.

After witnessing Shahrukh Khan’s batting during Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals clash, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar praised the IPL debutant for wonderful hitting in the match.

“Showed excellent temperament last game and tonight some wonderful ‘limited time’ hitting. Lots to like about Shahrukh. #PBKSvDC,” Manjrekar wrote on Twitter.

Punjab Kings were off to a great start by openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, who scored runs at a run rate of almost 10 till the 13th over. However, after both the openers were dismissed, the middle-order could not keep the momentum in batting. Chris Gayle (11) and Nicholas Pooran (9) lost their wickets cheaply. Deepak Hooda (22 off 13 balls) and Shahrukh Khan (15 off 5 balls) made their best efforts to take Punjab Kings to 195-4.

Later, Delhi Capitals’ Shikhar Dhawan smashed 92 runs off 49 balls to play a big role in the chase. Delhi Capitals dominated the match from the start of their batting, smashing 62 runs in powerplay overs. With Marcus Stoinis’ cameo of 27 runs of 13 balls, in the end, Delhi Capitals emerged victorious by 6 wickets in the match with 10 balls to go.

Delhi Capitals also moved to the 2nd spot in IPL 2021 points table after the victory. The Rishabh Pant-led side has won 2 matches out of 3. On the other hand, Punjab Kings are placed on the 7th spot with 1 victory in 3 games.
