IPL 2021: SRH Opener David Warner Confirms Participation In 2nd Phase In UAE

SunRisers Hyderabad will have the services of David Warner for the second leg of IPL 2021 in the UAE, starting on the 19th of September. David Warner has not played for Australia for quite a few months now and will head to the cash-rich league to prepare for the T20 World Cup in the same destination. The southpaw took to his official Twitter handle and confirmed the same.
The BCCI awaited confirmation from Cricket Australia since almost all other cricketing boards revealed to allow their players’ participation. In turn, reports suggested that Cricket Australia left it for the cricketers to decide whether they wish to play. However, the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins, Adam Zampa, Dan Christian, Daniel Sams, Marcus Stoinis, and others are yet to confirm.
Meanwhile, David Warner would be eager to turn his form around in the second leg of IPL 2021 as he produced underwhelming returns in the first. The 34-year old managed 193 runs in six runs, striking at a low 110.29, with two fifties. As a result of a string of losses, the management dropped Warner out of the line-up and stripped him of his captaincy position as well.
Below is the tweet displaying David Warner’s confirmation of participation:

But the New South Wales-born cricketer slammed more than 500 runs in the 2020 edition in the UAE. Hence, there are hopes of the left-handed opening batsman turning his form around. Warner’s form would also be crucial to Australia’s chances in the T20 World Cup, with the national team struggling to find its feet in the format. Thus, there could be good signs for the men in yellow. SunRisers will open their campaign in the UAE on the 22nd of September against the Delhi Capitals in Dubai.
