Former Indian batsman and Chennai Super Kings star batsman, Suresh Raina has arrived in Chennai for the early preparations with his franchise squad in Dubai for the upcoming second phase of IPL 2021. Suresh Raina who staged a comeback this year after missing out from the IPL last year due to personal reasons has already been involved in a match-winning inning.

He is very consistent when it comes to the cash-rich league and has been a stalwart for his franchise over the years winning three titles for the side. He is also among the all-time leading run-scorers in IPL history and his numbers are unbelievable in the tournament. He is going to play a big role in the second phase of the IPL too.

CSK Official Page Welcomes Suresh Raina With A Delightful Post

The CSK Instagram page shared a warm welcome post for Suresh Raina with his picture as they start preparations for the pre-training camp in Dubai. According to sources, they are likely to leave on August 14 or 15 when the UAE board approves their entry. Raina has to undergo isolation to travel with the CSK squad and there was also a picture of him watching the TNPL which is great for the growth of Tamil Nadu Cricket.

Suresh Raina has currently scored 123 runs for CSK in seven games at an average of 24.60 which is way below his normal standards. He has been pushed down one place to number four with Moeen Ali doing really well at number three. He will be looking to make it count in the remaining IPL games in the second phase in UAE.

Suresh Raina Explains His Bond With MS Dhoni

Suresh Raina in a chat with Star Sports Connected recently, mentioned his strong emotional bond with MS Dhoni playing for India as well as for CSK. He added that he learned a lot from the CSK skipper and referred to him like a big brother. He concluded that the respect between the two players is of the highest order still.

We’ve played a lot of matches for India as well as CSK. I think it’s just the emotion and on top of that we have that respect for each other. I have learned a lot from him and he is like a big brother to me.”

“We have won a lot of trophies together and have lost a lot of finals as well but the respect we have for each other is immense,”said Suresh Raina.
