The Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC) board has issued a no-objection certificate to spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera for participation in the second leg of IPL 2021. This will be a major boost to the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp as these two players have been in really good form in recent times.
The second phase of IPL 2021 will resume on September 19 in UAE with the defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on Chennai Super Kings. This is a return fixture as the first game in India saw the Mumbai Indians pulling off a stunning victory against the Chennai Super Kings and the final is set to be held on October 15th.
RCB Pick Interesting And Calculated Replacements For UAE Leg
The Virat Kohli-led RCB side has opted for the leg-spin all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga who was very impressive in the series against India. Hasaranga will replace Zampa while they have gone in with the extra pace of Dushmantha Chameera in place of Daniel Sams. Their weak middle-order issues could now be resolved as well they have roped in Tim David from England.
Tim David is a hard-hitting batsman in the middle order who had an excellent Hundred tournament and he will replace Finn Allen in the squad. Their final pick was the left-arm quick George Garton who will be replacing Australia’s Kane Richardson in the squad. They already have the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Kyle Jamieson, and AB De Villiers who have done really well and they will go either one of the new replacements.
RCB Looks Well Set For Their Maiden IPL Title
The Royal Challengers Bangalore side has had a lot of big names in the squad but is yet to win an IPL title which seems very strange. They have match-winners like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, but lacked depth in their squad and they have covered it really well this season. Their squad boasts of a lot of options and they won all their first four games this season. Maxwell and Harshal Patel have been performing outstandingly well so far for the RCB side.
