IPL 2021: Will Not Mind Batting Anywhere; Just Want To Help The Team Win, Says Rajasthan Royals David Miller After Victory Against KKR

Rajasthan Royals’ David Miller has said that he will not mind batting at any position and just want to help his team win. Miller has been doing a good job for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 so far at the lower-middle order. In the match against KKR, Miller batted at the no.6 spot and managed to score unbeaten 24 runs to pull off a victory for his side.

Rajasthan Royals needed to chase 134 runs in the 2nd innings. The team lost 4 wickets after reaching 100 runs in 13.4 overs. David Miller arrived at the crease and gave great support to skipper Sanju Samson to get the winning runs for the team. Sanju Samson scored 42 runs off 41 balls during the chase.

While speaking to Star Sports after the match, Miller said that it was a tactical decision to bat down the order. The South African cricketer also said that he just wants to help his team win and will not mind batting at any position.

“The body gave in towards the back end, but it was nice to finish off the match well. Sanju batted extremely well, he actually did in the first game, showed what he got, was a good team performance, nice and clinical.

“In T20 cricket, everything happens rather fast, it was a tactical decision (batting down the order), and came off well tonight. The key is to finish off games, I will not mind batting anywhere, just want to help the team win,” David Miller said.

Miller also mentioned that Rajasthan Royals have a good bunch of guys and a great set-up in the squad.

“Tewatia is a local and he plays the spinners well, brings out the sweeps and reverse sweeps hence he batted ahead. We have a good bunch of guys and a great set-up, There was a lot of positive energy tonight, today was a big win and we’ll take confidence into the next game, hopefully get onto a nice little run.

“Was a nice wicket although the cutters were holding up a bit, I couldn’t get bat on ball at the start, it was good to finish it off,” David Miller further said.

After the victory against Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals have won 2 matches out of 5 so far. They have 4 points and hold the 5th spot in IPL 2021 points table. The Sanju Samson-led side will lock horns with Mumbai Indians in the next game.
